We've used Saffron Autos for a couple of years now, and have always found them to be honest and reliable. Recently, they went completely out of their way to help us when we had some car troubles - collecting the car from us so that I wasn't stranded with two small children, arranging a courtesy car and then delivering it to us when we couldn't get to them to collect it. I couldn't speak highly enough of their brilliant customer service.

We took our car (7-years old) to have a leaking cylinder repaired, but it ended up having to be written off. During the attempted repair an engine bolt broke and neither it nor the engine could not be removed. It then emerged that the work had been entrusted to a junior employee and that the possibility of the bolt breaking was known to the owner of the workshop. We were offered the scrap value of the car, or a new or reconditioned engine at a cost of 2,500. We had to buy a new second-hand car which entailed expense and inconvenience. We found the owner's attitude aggressive and he was unwilling to accept responsibility for what had happened.
