It isn't the British Museum or the Natural History Museum. But for all of that, it is a quaint museum and surprisingly well stocked. It shows a history of the local area and then upstairs has a natural history section that has stuffed animals, fossils and even a narwhal tusk!Well worth the visit and genuinely interesting. Kids are free and adults 2.50 so great VFM.
Amazing place! Not your typical small town museum.
Nice little museum, plenty to keep the kids occupied. Has a wide variety of artifacts from all over the world from different periods. Well worth a look.
Surprisingly large and interesting museum which provided the family with some entertainment for a rainy afternoon. Highlights were definitely the mummy, Wallace the lion and miniature dig site where little people can uncover different treasures.Excellently priced and a large range of different exhibitions which will appeal to most - worth looking at if you're at a loss for things to do in Saffron Walden.
A hidden gem. My children loved visiting this museum. We chose to go here as it had a section on Egypt which was their school topic. We had lots of fun. The staff were friendly and attentive and it was clear that the museum was important to them.
