Lovely historical home open to the public on certain days. There are often event days and a fairy garden and children's train over the road.Well worth the visit and you can then pop into nearby Saffron Walden.

Very picturesque setting.Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.English Heritage run site so parking and entrance has a charge.Ample parking with disabled area.Estate divided into two distinct visitation areas divided by the river. The House and associated gardens are on one side of the river and Working Gardens and Stables on the other. Both areas have toilets and a restaurant. There is also a small hedge enclosed tea garden near the house which is great on sunny days.Near the Working Gardens there is also a play area for the children.Around Christmas they have an enchanted walk, which I found to be a little light on content (2018) given the price one pays. The path lights were so overwhelming bright that and subtle coloured foliage lighting or fairy displays was overwhelmed by the bright white path lights - very disappointed. If this review is helpful please press like. Visiting Enchanted Audley End - light and sound event was the best thing we booked this Christmas season. An enchanted forest full of fairy lights, fairies, marshmallows, mulled wine and a hidden troll seduces visitors of all ages. Beautiful experience, magical ambience, worth every penny!

Always a beautiful gem to visit, I have been here on a few occasions either for a walk around the grounds, which are beautifully maintained, or to see a heritage concert (2 cellos) among other things. I have yet to see inside, but you can bet I will return to have a look. Worth a visit.

Miniature railway to Santa's grotto was fantastic. Stay in the train and Santa comes along with a present and an elf will use your phone to take some photos. Kids disco, story time and kids can make there own Xmas tree decorations and post Santa a letter. Well worth a visit
