Came here on a busy Thursday night and had one of the slowest services I've ever received in a restaurant. Was there for an hour and a half (in total) and only managed to get the starters, had to dash off as I was seeing a show, so my main course was put in a bag! There was only 2 members of staff working that evening and needed plenty more to cater for the other people at the restaurant. Absolute joke
My wife and I had a very good meal there last Saturday evening. They are currently offering a 2 course or 3 course set menu, based on dishes from their main menu. At 14 the 3 course menu is really good value. My wife chose calamari followed by chicken breast in a mushroom sauce. I had hummus with a very generous portion of flatbreads followed by penne in a spicy sauce. There was an option to have chicken added to the spicy sauce at no extra charge. I chose that but the chicken was missed out. I didn't realise at first and told the waitress later. She was very apologetic and our coffees were not charged for.My wife drinks white wine and I prefer red. Prezzo offer most of their wines in a 50 cl carafe as well as by the glass or bottle. So two carafes suited us well.
We waited quite a while for a waitress to come to take our order. We saw her taking someone else's order so my husband was not very happy. Finally my husband a word with her and we finally had something to eat.The meal was very nice, but the side salad was not fresh and was dry. We had starters two meals and desserts and a drink each. We had a Merkat deal so the price was less the 40.00
Food was as you would expect, nice but slightly on pricey side. My biggest complaint about the place was that it was freezing inside. We sat upstairs, my children kept their coats on as it was so cold. I took my coat off initially, but had to put it around my shoulders inbetween courses. I know it's an old building, but PLEASE make up for this with additional heating.
We chose prezzos as a safe bet to eat in a town we had never been to before as all 4 of us regularly use this chain of restaurants. It turned into the worst dining experience we had ever had and we are all well travelled, we waited an hour and a half for food which never arrived , the attitude of the staff was uncaring and even when asked " where's our food " they made no attempt to look into the problem.We decided to walk out only to have the waiter chase us down a busy street pleading with us to accept a free takeaway each, we stood outside waited again but unbelievably our original order had never reached the kitchen !!!!! Fawlty towers has not anything on these clowns so use this restaurant at your peril .We ended up in a Domino's takeaway where the staff were charming .
